Trafford Council reassures residents

Trafford Council has reassured residents following the news that homecare provider Allied will cease to trade in five weeks’ time.

The company has announced it intends to sell, wholly or in part, all of its business by December 21.

A spokesperson for Trafford Council said:

We want to reassure residents worried about the news concerning Allied Care. The Council is fully aware of the issues and we are continuing to work closely with Allied and other providers to ensure that Trafford residents' support is continued and we minimise any disruption to their care.

We are contacting service users over the next two weeks, to talk to them about their options and ensure they continue to receive the best care available to them. We are confident that we can manage this situation with little or no disruption, because we have excellent relationships with Allied and with our other local homecare providers.

Allied Healthcare supports around 30 Trafford residents in their homes by carrying out tasks including preparing meals, washing and providing medicines.

The Council is being supported by the LGA, CQC and Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) to manage the impact on local residents and is in daily contact with Allied locally.
