Frances Del Panno Trust Fund seeks Trafford community projects to benefit from £23,000 of funding

Community groups from Old Trafford and Stretford are being invited to apply to the Frances Del Panno Trust to gain funding for their projects.

The Frances Del Panno Trust Fund was originally set up in 1984 by two former Trafford residents who left a sum of money in Trust to be managed by their three nominated Trustees, the Council’s Mayor, ‘Town Clerk’ (now Chief Executive) and ‘Treasurer’ (now Chief Finance Officer). The Trust aims to help vulnerable people living in the North of the Borough (Old Trafford, Stretford, Gorse Hill and Longford wards), and currently has £23,000 available to support new initiatives that reduce social isolation, enhance the lives of people with poor health or a disability, support those in financial difficulties, or help people back into work.

Community groups can apply for up to £10,000 from the Fund to help them continue their work. The closing date for applications is Monday 19th March, 2018.

Mayor of Trafford Councillor Jonathan Coupe, one of the Trustees of the Fund, said: “We have some wonderful community groups who make a huge difference to the lives of Trafford’s most vulnerable residents every day. The Frances Del Panno Trust is an exciting opportunity to support the amazing work they do by giving them a financial boost.”
