The Trafford Business Loan Fund has been formally launched by Cllr Brian Shaw at the winter Trafford Park Business Network event at Hotel Football.Taking place in front of seventy businesses on the 10th February, the Trafford Park Business Network provided the perfect platform to launch a fund that will allow businesses to receive tailored financial support.

Arlette Taylor, a Trafford Resident and director of care company Cherished Moments, is set to receive a 'Hero Award' from Trading Standards.Trafford Council's trading standards team regularly recognise the efforts of residents who go the extra mile in helping to protect their family, friends and neighbours from rogue traders, and they will be presenting their Hero Award to Arlette at the intu Trafford Centre Tea Dance on the 7th February.

Trafford Town Hall vandalised – police seek information

Description
Thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused to Trafford Town Hall in an overnight attack.At 2.35am on Saturday 21 January 2017 morning a man approached the Town Hall where he attacked the windows and revolving doors of the building with a hammer. Extensive damage to several panes of glass and the revolving doors was caused which will cost thousands to repair.

Free access to Find My Past now available in all Trafford libraries.

From this week (23rd January 2017) the popular genealogical website Find My Past will be available for the public to use for free in all Trafford Libraries. This is an entirely free service to the Council and has been made possible through the partnership work of the Greater Manchester Archives and Local Studies Partnership.

Celebrity finds Trafford Council right up her street for her wedding

Trafford Council was very proud to host the wedding of Coronation Street alumni Jenny McAlpine (now Farr) who plays Fizz in the famous soap. Jenny and her husband Chris Farr chose Trafford Town Hall as the venue for their wedding as Trafford holds special meaning to them. Along with their young son, Albert, the happy couple had a quiet ceremony followed by fish and chips and a honeymoon in Wales.

Trafford Council inspects its heritage

Trafford Council officers have been out and about to inspect important buildings that are part of the borough's heritage.The inspections are carried out to assess the condition of listed buildings which are, or may be at risk of, falling into disrepair or dereliction through vacancy, neglect or unauthorised works. This is to encourage owners of listed buildings to respect their heritage and abide by the planning regulations by keeping them in a good state of repair and to intervene before a building can no longer be saved.
