Physical Intervention Advice

 

Trafford recommends that schools, Academies and settings:

• Follow the latest Government advice on physical intervention, restraint, searching and screening and positive handling and take this into account when writing the school policy
• Ensure that all staff (including new staff to the school) have a sound understanding of the school’s policy
• All staff should receive annual training on when it is appropriate to intervene and to what level - selected staff may need to be trained and authorised to use physical handling techniques
