Safe4Summer

Safe4Summer is a Greater Manchester approach to help the public have a safe and enjoyable summer, whilst addressing community concerns about youth related crime and anti-social behaviour. Safe4Summer will focus on water safety, especially young people playing in and around open water, the reduction of anti-social behaviour – and fire safety – taking care when lighting your barbecues.

For more information visit www.safe4summer.com

Safe4Summer is a joint initiative between Trafford Council, Trafford Children and Young People’s Service, Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, Greater Manchester Police, the voluntary community sector and the private sector. It shows how agencies in Trafford are working together to make the borough a safer place for everyone.

Trafford’s Summer of Wellbeing

NHS Trafford’s public health team in partnership with Trafford Council have been working with local community groups and encouraging residents to get involved in the spirit of the Olympics by taking part in the Summer of Wellbeing, a festival of community-led events inspired by Trafford’s status as an Olympic Games host as well as its sporting and leisure assets. A programme of activities within local communities has been designed to encourage improvements in health and wellbeing.

It’s hoped that local communities will take up new activities, bearing in mind one of the five ‘ways to wellbeing’:

  • Enjoy the moment
  • Hang out with friends
  • Get active
  • Learn a new skill
  • Lend a hand

Anyone interested in getting involved should call 0161 873 6004 or email the project manager: graeme.snell@trafford.nhs.uk
