Trafford Council

The Duke of Edinburgh 1921-2021

A message from Trafford Mayor Cllr Laurence Walsh

"I am deeply saddened to hear of the death of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Alongside the Queen, Prince Philip has served our country selflessly, steadfastly and resolutely. He provided incredible support for Her Majesty the Queen and will be sadly missed."

"Through his inspirational Duke of Edinburgh Awards, His Royal Highness has helped thousands of youngsters across the country, Europe and the rest of the world and was also patron of hundreds of charities and good causes.”

Flags are being flown at half mast at Council buildings throughout the borough. If you wish to pay tribute, a book of condolence has been set up at https://www.royal.uk/condolence
