Homelessness Strategy 2015 - 2018

Homelessness Strategy 2015 - 2018

Trafford Council has recently consulted partners on a new Homelessness Strategy for the years 2015 to 2018. The Strategy sets out the key challenges, objectives and priorities for tackling homelessness across the Borough, and outlines how the Council plans to tackle these issues over the next three years.

Our Review of the 2008 - 2011 Homelessness Strategy has homelessness data in easy to read tables, and the views of partners, commissioners and service users.

The new Strategy is based on the findings and recommendations of a review of the current services available to homeless people, and has been carried out with their help and the input of current service providers. The Strategy will continue to build on good practice across the Borough and it aims to fill gaps in existing services for homeless people.

The Strategy sets out short, medium and long-term actions. The actions are designed to:

  • prevent homelessness
  • provide accommodation for the homeless, and
  • provide support for the homeless.

These are designed to prevent homelessness whenever possible, offer interventions such as temporary accommodation, and provide advice to people who are homeless or who are facing homelessness.

The Council is now working with our partners to help us to deliver the outcomes which will help vulnerable people in Trafford.
