Making a deposit under the Commons Act 2006

Section 15A of the Commons Act 2006 enables landowners to protect themselves against a parcel of land being registered as a village green or common based solely on a period of use by the public.

To do this, you will need to deposit a map, statement and declaration with the Council showing which land you are making the statement in respect of under Section 15A of the Commons Act 2006.

There is an application form on the GOV.UK website which should be used for landowner statements (town and village greens).

You will need to provide the appropriate fee of £366 (no VAT) for a single parcel of land.

Deposits should be addressed to:

Legal Services,
Trafford Town Hall,
Talbot Road,
Stretford,
M32 0TH
