Temporary one month Tables and Chairs Licence
MPs are currently considering the next stages of the Business and Planning Bill. The new legislation will make it easier for premises in England serving food and drink such as bars, restaurants and pubs to seat and serve customers outdoors through temporary changes to planning procedures and alcohol licensing.
Until this legislation comes into force we have put together a Temporary One Month Pavement Licence at no cost to the applicant.
This application consists of a 28 day consultation period where you must display a public notice at the premises. Once granted, the licence will last 28 days and enables businesses to have the appropriate permissions in place for placing tables and chairs on the highway.
Once the Business and Planning Bill passes, licence holders will be able to apply for the new Fast Track Pavement Licence which will take their authorisations up to 30 September 2021. To help you we have produced Guidance Notes and Published Conditions for a Pavement Licence.
Before re-opening, you should read Trafford Council's general guidance on re-opening our town centres and high streets during COVID-19.
