Housing Land Availability Assessment

The Strategic Housing Land Availability Assessment (SHLAA) supports the delivery of sufficient land for housing to meet the need for new homes. The SHLAA identifies a future supply of land which is suitable, available and achievable for housing and when it is likely to be developed. The SHLAA is an important source of evidence to inform plan-making and decision-taking and also identifies a 5 year supply of housing land. It can also inform as well as make use of sites in the brownfield register.

This 2020 SHLAA presents an updated assessment of the housing land supply position within Trafford as at 31 March 2020:

You can view the sites on a map at My Trafford.

The 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009 and 2008 reports, along with the SHLAA Consultation Statement (published in December 2008, summarising the comments received on the July 2008 Draft Report) can be viewed using the links below:

How to get involved in the Trafford SHLAA review process

Anyone wishing to suggest sites that can be considered for inclusion in the next review can do so by downloading and completing a site suggestion form and sending it (with a location plan clearly identifying the site boundary) to the Strategic PlanningTeam.
