Trafford Local Plan: Land Allocations

The Land Allocations Plan was to be the principal means by which the objectives defined in the Core Strategy would be translated onto the ground. The Council consulted on a full draft of the Land Allocations Plan for 6 weeks from 3 February 2014 to 17 March 2014.

On 25 March 2015, the Council's Executive agreed to delay the production of the Land Allocations Plan until such time that the production of the Greater Manchester Spatial Framework is further advanced.

Land Allocations Plan draft documents

Evidence base documents

It was necessary to produce a number of new documents and update others to support the consultation draft document. The documents are listed below:

Previous Consultations

Shaping the Plan (August 2012)

The Council prepared an initial consultation document called " Shaping the Plan" August 2012 . This document aimed to stimulate discussion as to what the Land Allocations Plan should contain. This document was accompanied by a further call for sites invitation, giving people another opportunity to complete a Site Submission Form , to suggest land for development and/or protection in their neighbourhoods.

A Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report - Consultation Draft accompanied the consultation document. This sets out the way in which it is proposed that the Council will assess potential allocations and policies in the Plan to ensure it is sustainable.

A Statutory Notice was placed in the local press, advertising the commencement of the consultation period.

Earlier 'Call for Sites' (Nov 2007)

An initial "call for sites" consultation was carried out in November 2007. This consultation resulted in over a hundred sites being submitted for consideration. A list of all submitted sites is available to download: Land Allocations - All Submitted Sites Report .

A Statutory Notice was placed in the local press, advertising the commencement of the consultation period.
