Unitary Development Plan

The Unitary Development Plan (UDP) is a statutory document that plays a major role in shaping the future of the Borough. It shows what land in the Borough can be developed and for what purpose. The Revised Trafford UDP was adopted in June 2006. The UDP forms part of the Local Plan for Trafford.

Most of the UDP policies are no longer operational as they have been superseded by the following Local Plan documents:

The Local Plan includes the documents set out above and the UDP until such a time that all elements of the UDP have been replaced by Local Plan documents.

The text of the Core Strategy contains in Appendix 5, a schedule setting out how UDP policies will be replaced by Local Plan documents.

A copy of the UDP can be inspected at Trafford Town Hall and Libraries across the Borough during normal opening hours.
