Trafford Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy

There is no health without mental health – positive mental health allows us to fulfil our potential, help us cope with stresses, work productively, and contribute to our community.

In Trafford, shifting the focus of care to prevention, early intervention and resilience and delivering a sustainable mental health approach will require simplified and strengthened leadership and accountability across the whole system. Enabling resilient communities, engaging inclusive employers, and working in partnership with our third sector colleagues can transform the mental health and wellbeing of Trafford residents.

This interim strategy aims to enables all parts of the wider system in Trafford to think about how to support good mental health and wellbeing.

Trafford Mental Health Inequalities Report

The pandemic has exacerbated mental health inequalities, and Trafford is determined to improve wellbeing and equality through a system-wide approach to mental health.

Using workshop feedback, an interactive digital complex system map of Trafford’s mental health and wellbeing factors was produced, and a series of recommendations were put forward. The map and recommendations will now be taken to system leaders for next steps.
