Coronavirus (COVID-19): Registrars update
Important information about changes to our services
We are monitoring the current situation on coronavirus, closely following information and advice published by the government.
In order to minimise face-to-face contact and group meetings, which will help to prevent the spread of coronavirus, some services will need to be delivered differently.
Information for parents registering a new baby in the current environment
Following lockdown measures in March, birth registrations in England and Wales were temporarily suspended. At the start of June it was announced that birth registrations could resume where it is safe to do so.
Trafford Register Office have now put provisions in place and will be undertaking birth registrations at Sale Town Hall from Monday 22 June 2020.
To book an appointment please telephone 0161 912 3026 between 9am - 4pm Monday to Friday. Please do not email the Register Office about appointment availability unless it is an emergency. Please read the information below on what will happen when you attend an appointment as it is important that the safety of all our customers and staff is maintained once we reopen to the public.
Information for bereaved families registering a death in the current environment
Emergency legislation has come into effect to allow death registrations to be taken by telephone by the Registrar, so that families do not have to attend the register office to complete a face to face registration.
Families can give the certifying doctor their permission to share their contact details with us, so that we can phone them directly to make arrangements for a telephone appointment. Alternatively you can telephone us direct on 0161 912 3026 Monday to Friday 9am to 4pm
Marriage Ceremonies and Civil Partnership Formations
Wedding and Civil Partnership update
