Provisional Booking for Ceremonies

Provisional Bookings for Ceremonies

In the case of a marriage or civil partnership ceremony, legal notice of intention to marry or enter into a civil partnership must be given before a booking can be made. This is so the Superintendent Registrar is satisfied that you are legally in a position to be married or enter into a civil partnership.

A provisional booking can be made if you wish to hold a time and date for a ceremony, This could include Marriage, Civil Partnership, Renewal of Vows, Alternative Ceremonies and a Baby Naming Ceremonies. The fee payable for this ceremony does not form part of the ceremony fee and is non-refundable should you wish to cancel or amend your booking.

If you do not wish to make a provisional booking, you can make arrangements for a date and time for your ceremony once legal notice of intention to marry or enter into a civil partnership has been given by at least one of the parties.
