Restorative Practice

Being restorative is all about working with people, focusing on behaviours and interactions which help build and sustain positive relationships. Trafford has been steadily rolling out this asset-based approach over the past 18 months and we’re happy to report that feedback has been overwhelming positive.

Formal and informal processes are used to provide high levels of support and challenge to help resolve any difficulties or conflict which may arise for our children, families or carers. We aim to provide training for all of our Children’s Social Care colleagues with a three day course currently up and running on a series of dates until November.

Training dates for our multi-agency partners have now been scheduled and will run from July 2019 until March 2020 at Sale, Altrincham and Stretford locations. Saturday dates are available to hopefully help those who cannot attend during the week - to book your place please visit the TSSP website.

In partnership with our Restorative way of working we have launched our new Trafford ‘Obsessions’; our guiding principles which will underpin every decision we make going forward, affecting all areas of our service. The Obsessions will act as a constant reminder of what we want to achieve for now and in the future. Let us know what you think! Please email any feedback to:  executivesupport@trafford.gov.uk
