Virtual School Trip to London

In July this year Virtual School travelled to London with nine of our amazing Year 10s.  The purpose of the trip was to try out being a university student. We were really lucky to be joined by Peter who came to London with us when he was in Year 10 and is now in his second year at Sheffield University – the perfect inspiration!

We stayed in very nice halls of residence in the centre of town and on the first day we had the chance to see the sights on a river cruise and even caught a show in the West End.

On the second day we spent time at UCL University, looking around and meeting students who had been in care when they were younger.  We even got to have a science lecture and had a go at making electrical circuits - Adam and Josh were naturals!

Some people who came on the trip had never been to London before and some had never been to a University but we were so proud of all of them for trying something so different.

Whether or not they decide that University is for them we know that they are all going to achieve great things as they move into Year 11 and beyond.  I have to agree with Nathan when he said “I loved every minute!”
