Self-employed multi-link carers
Trafford Council is currently recruiting for self-employed multi-link contracted Foster Carers. There are two positions available, one full-time position and one part-time.
Multi-link Foster carers are linked to a number of children. Each child is allocated a number of short-break sessions per year where they receive individual one-to one support either day-time or over-night care. A full care-time carer will deliver 222 sessions per year which approximately equates to 5 days per week – Carers are expected to work a minimum of one/two weekends per month. Part-time carers sessions will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.
All Foster Carers will adhere to Fostering Regulations and will receive a yearly rolling contract highlighting terms and conditions of employment.
Will I be paid for providing care? Yes
- Tier One - £17569 plus care payments (£45.27 per session) up to 222 sessions per year.
- Tier Two – Enhanced care payment for complex health and care needs
Will I receive support and training?
Yes, full training will be given. You will receive ongoing support from the child's parents and from the Children with Disabilities Team. Full fostering assessment will be undertaken and agreement at Fostering Panel will be required prior to your approval as a Foster Carer.
Will I have to undergo a background check?
Yes. Criminal records bureau checks and other references are carried out.
