Holocaust Memorial Day

Holocaust Memorial Day (HMD) falls on 27th January every year. HMD is a time for reflecting on specific events in the past and  thinking about how we as communities and individuals stand up to discrimination, racism and hatred.

The theme of Holocaust Memorial Day 2019 is “Torn from home”.  An event featuring Trafford schools will be held in the Robert Bolt Theatre at Waterside Arts Centre on Wednesday 23rd January for an invited audience.  All secondary schools in Trafford should have received an invitation to attend this event.

Trafford Libraries will also be hosting themed displays.

If your school might be interested in participating in a Holocaust Memorial Day event at the Robert Bolt Theatre in 2020 please contact us no later than mid-September 2019 when programming will commence.  As HMD 2020 falls on a Monday it is likely that next year's event will be on 27th January 2020 but this will be confirmed as part of the programming activity in September.

Contact the Trafford Events Team if you have any questions on 0161 912 4502 or email events@trafford.gov.uk
