Recycling rate – how well are we doing?

Our annual recycling rate in 2022/23 was 58.4%, making us the fourteent best local authority for recycling and composting in the country. Our composting rate of 36.8% is the highest in England. Thank you to everyone for helping us recycle more.

With your help we can recycle even more. More recycling means we spend less on waste disposal, helping us to protect other essential services.

How our recycling rate compares to other councils

You can view a league table which ranks councils by how much they've recycled throughout the whole year. The 'Lets Recycle' league tables 2022/23 show how our recycling rates compare to other councils in England.
