Disposal sites in Trafford

As the lockdown begins to ease, it’s tempting to visit your local recycling centre to get rid of items you no longer need or want. Please only visit if you really need to and follow the latest government guidelines to help reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

The recycling centres on Woodhouse Lane, Altrincham and Chester Road, Stretford are open, accepting items which include:

  • General waste
  • Garden waste

For the full list of what you can take, visit the Recycle for Greater Manchester website.

When can I visit?

As queuing times at the Recycling Centres have improved, the number plate registration system is no longer in use. You can visit any of the open Recycling Centres on any day, but please check opening times as they are operating reduced hours. Recycle for Greater Manchester still expects recycling centres to be extremely busy.

If there are passengers in the vehicle, two person can now leave the vehicle when you arrive at the recycling centre.
