If you are using a car, you do NOT need a permit. For information on how to apply for a van permit, visit the Recycle for Greater Manchester website.

Removal of height restrictions

From Monday 9 May 2021, residents with vehicles over 2 metres, can recycle their waste by using the recycling centres instead of the weighbridge.

Trade waste

You cannot take business or trade waste to any of the Recycling Centres. These are strictly for household waste and recycling only. You can dispose of your business or trade waste at a SUEZ waste transfer facility.

You must bring and wear appropriate protective clothing on site when visiting. For more information visit the Recycle for Greater Manchester website.

Asbestos

Asbestos must be disposed of at a waste transfer facility. Get more information about disposing of asbestos safely and find your local facility

Donate your items to Renew

Items that you no longer need but are too good to waste can be donated to Renew by dropping them off in the donation container at Woodhouse Lane recycling centres.

Unfortunately, due to limited space, there is no Renew container at the site on Chester Road. Recycle for Greater Manchester sell your items in their three Renew shops – all the money raised goes to supporting good causes across Greater Manchester!
