Once your details have been taken by a member of the Occupational Therapy Team, where appropriate an Occupational Therapist will contact you and arrange to visit you in your home to discuss your needs. They will ask some questions about how you are managing at the moment with usual daily activities, such as getting dressed, using the bath or just getting around your home. They will assess how you cope with certain problems.
Using this information they will make a recommendation of how your needs can be met in conjunction with our approved criteria.
Where appropriate these recommendations will be sent to the adaptations team for provision or consideration of a Disabled Facilities Grant to assist with the cost of the proposed adaptation.
In some cases it may be that an adaptation does not provide the best solution and that your day to day needs can be met by simply trying a different way of doing something.
Alternatively, it could be that the provision of a piece of equipment such as a walking frame, bath seat or specialist toilet item provides the best option. In these instances this equipment will be loaned to you free of charge, and supplied directly from the One Stop Resource Centre.

Anyone living in Trafford who has a permanent or substantial disability or who cares for a person with a permanent or substantial disability.

The line is open Monday to Friday 09.00-12.00 and Monday and Friday only 13.00-16.00.
The EAAL telephone is staffed by a member of the Occupational Therapy Assessment Team who will advise you of possible options and, if necessary, take your details and add them to the waiting list for an appointment to receive a home visit for assessment of your needs.
There is a priority system and it may be some time before an Occupational Therapist or Disabled Living Advisor (DLA) can visit you.
