Waterside Arts Centre

Waterside Arts Centre is now seen as a major touring venue for visual and performing arts from across the UK and we offer the best in arts and entertainment. Our programme is packed with drama, dance, music, comedy, film, exhibitions, workshops and classes.

Opened in April 2004 by Sarah Miles, wife of playwright and two-time Oscar winning screenwriter Robert Bolt CBE, the first artistic programme was launched in November 2004.

The centre contains The Robert Bolt Theatre (350 seats), The Lauriston Gallery, The Chambers, The Corridor Gallery, The Gallery Bar and a variety of studios and workshop spaces. The centre also programmes events on the outdoor plaza area.

We also offer a wide range of resources to the local community. Join in one of our numerous classes for young people, families and adults. We are home to Touchdown Dance and have also been the venue for Sale Nomads, Trafford College, Sale Chamber Orchestra, Trafford Youth Orchestra and numerous Trafford schools and many local dance schools.
