Coronavirus (COVID-19) updates for Trafford Libraries

Libraries in Trafford

Trafford's libraries remain open during the national lockdown - with measures in place to keep everyone safe.

To maintain the current guidelines around social distancing for the safety of our staff and customers you will be able to:

  • return library books you borrowed before the libraries closed.
  • borrow more books by using our ‘Order and Collect’ service.
  • pre-book to use the public computers if you don’t have access to computers.
  • From Monday 7th December customers will be able to browse for books in Altrincham, Coppice, Sale and Stretford libraries. On the following Monday, 14th December, browsing will also resume in Old Trafford, Partington and Urmston libraries. There will be a maximum number of people allowed in the library at any one time and once this is reached we will ask customers to wait until someone leaves. Customers are advised to wear masks whilst using the libraries and use the hand sanitiser that will be available.

All returned books will be quarantined for 72 hours as recommended by Public Health England.

If you have pre-booked to use the computers, there will be a one way system to follow to ensure social distancing. Printing is only available from pre-booked Library PCs.

Stretford - Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday 10am-4pm

Little Reads storytime

Miriam from Manchester Literature Festival is missing seeing lots of lovely families at Stretford Library for her regular monthly session so she will be posting a new Little Reads storytime every ‪Wednesday at 10.30am‬!

Little Reads is a great opportunity for you and your little ones to have fun sharing a story, singing, moving and playing. Language development can be so much fun!

Remember to have your favourite cuddly toy ready so they can join in the moves too!

Find out how you can join in the fun on our FaceBook page
