Flixton Park

This park has previously been awarded the Green Flag award.

Green Flag award
The park is home to Flixton Gardens and House which were built in 1806 by wealthy landowners the Wright family. It was opened as a park when the land was acquired by the council in 1935. The grounds include a walled garden, rose garden and herbaceous border, sensory garden and a memorial bee garden for the victims of the Manchester Arena attack. The park was awarded its first Green Flag in 2018.

Friends group

Friends of Flixton Gardens was established in 2017 and meet every Wednesday and Saturday. They are a very small group but have achieved a lot in two years; having totally transformed the gardens, planting over 100 shrubs and thousands of spring bulbs. The group hold several events a year to raise funds including an Easter egg hunt, afternoon tea dances and Christmas carol concerts.
