Cashless parking extended across Trafford

Motorists wanting to park in Trafford will find it easier and more convenient from this week, thanks to the roll out of the RingGo cashless payment system.

Having already proved popular for match day parking since it was introduced in August 2009, extending the system will see other motorists benefiting each day.

The cashless system means no more struggling to find coins. In addition motorists can save time and top up their parking remotely if they are to run out of time - removing the risk of receiving a penalty charge notice.

Trafford Council's Deputy Chief Executive, Helen Jones, said: "The Council is always looking to improve the experience for motorists wanting to park across the borough. Being able to roll out this popular method of paying for car parking is another demonstration of this."

People using RingGo can pay for parking online, via text message or by calling a standard rate telephone number that will be displayed on signs.

There is also a dedicated app for iPhone, Android, Blackberry and Windows devices, with full details of each payment method available at: www.ringgo.co.uk

Motorists choosing to pay via RingGo do not need to display a ticket as parking attendants will check which vehicles have paid for parking by accessing live information on the app.

Once registered, the service can remember users’ vehicle and payment information to save time and issue text reminders to notify them 10 minutes before their parking is due to run out – giving them time to return to their car or extend their stay to the maximum period allowed in that parking place.

Registration can be done easily via www.ringgo.co.uk

RingGo will be available by Thursday, 25 May 2017.
