Historic House Transformed Into Dream Wedding Venue

A 200-year-old building has been transformed into a dream wedding venue.

Flixton House, Trafford, which is Grade-II listed, has undergone a major refurbishment by Trafford Council to breathe life back into the fabulous old building and is now a premier venue for weddings, anniversaries, conferences  and more.

An Open Day on Saturday, 3rd November, is being held for members of the public to view the changes and admire the transformation.

The building, featuring period details, is licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships and, on the Open Day, one of the rooms will be set up for a wedding ceremony so viewers can see how it could look.

The refurbished ballroom will be set up for a wedding reception to enable would be brides and grooms to see what their special day could look like. Visitors will also be able to see the licensed bar and meeting rooms, which come with projection facilities and Wifi.

Flixton House also benefits from having the picturesque Flixton Gardens next door, which are ideal for wedding photography.

Cllr Catherine Hynes, Deputy Leader of Trafford Council, said: “Flixton House has been transformed into a jewel in the crown.

“It is a perfect venue for weddings or anniversaries, or for holding important conferences. Whatever the occasion, Flixton House and our dedicated staff can make it perfect for you.”

The Open Day takes place from 11am to 5pm with the opportunity to visit the entire building  including the ballroom, conference and meeting rooms, bridal changing room,  bar and gardens.  Florists, caterers, venue dressers will also be on site.  Casual staff opportunities will also be advertised.
