Residents Asked To Take Part In Vital Survey

Householders across the borough are being asked by Trafford Council to help them with a vital housing survey.

Letters have been sent out at random to private sector properties across the borough to determine property conditions and energy efficiency

The resulting data will enable the Council to have a better understanding of the condition of the housing stock in its area. Should the Council then bid for funding from Central Government, the accurate data will increase the likelihood of a bid being successful.

Cllr Kevin Procter, Trafford Council Executive Member for Communities and Housing, said: “We all want to have pride in the areas we live in. This survey can help us receive funding to improve private housing in poor condition.

“Not only does this help residents who may be on low income but also improves neighbourhoods and can help them to thrive.”

The survey is being carried out by specialists David Adamson & Partners Ltd. The survey will normally take no longer than 30 minutes and involves the surveyor viewing the front and rear of the house, as well as inside.

Cllr Procter said:

“I would like, in advance, to thank the residents that agree to take part in this vital survey.“All surveyors will carry a photo card and identity card from David Adamson & Partners Limited. Please ask to see it before allowing the surveyor into you home. If you are not sure, don’t let them in but contact the survey office on 0800 056 1051.”

The surveys will take place from the end of November  to January 2019. Residents can make arrangements for a surveyor to call at a time that suits by calling Freephone 0800 056 1051.
