Inventor to visit Trafford to give special talk on eco-friendly water cremation technique

Sandy Sullivan, founder and director of Resomation Ltd, will be giving presentations at an open day at Altrincham Crematorium and Dunham Lawn Cemetery on Sunday, 23rd June, between 10.30am and 3pm.

Mr Sullivan says water cremation is the new alternative to flame cremation and provides the public with “an environmental alternative at the end of life.”

Trafford Council organised the open day to give people the opportunity to come together to share views and to see what goes on behind the scenes in their local crematorium.

David Jennings, Trafford Council’s Bereavement Services Manager, said:

The open day is designed to help people who want to know more about burials and cremations and to provide an opportunity to share experiences. Mr Sullivan’s talk will be very interesting and will give an alternative viewpoint to traditional cremations. We will also try and answer queries people have  and provide guidance. In addition we are creating a “Friends of Altrincham Crematorium and Dunham Lawn Cemetery ” and information will be available on how to join us in this venture.”

The day will provide an opportunity for people to meet the Bereavement Services team and other organisations and services connected with the provision of funerals and memorials.

There will be tours of the crematorium and a number of exhibits and activities including calligraphy demonstrations, memorialisation and jewellery stalls. There will be a beautiful rainbow funeral carriage on show and plenty to do for all the family, including woodland ‘bug walks.’
