Council to consult over future of former William Wroe Golf Course site

Trafford Council is to consult with residents  over the future of the former William Wroe Golf Course site in Flixton.

The Council wants to work with the local community to get their views on how the site can be improved now the decision has been made to keep it in the greenbelt.

The Council is hosting a drop-in session on Thursday 14 March 2019 between 4pm and 7pm at Flixton House and all are invited to give their views and share ideas.

The Council has employed planning and design group ARUP to carry out an options appraisal for the site to look at its long term sustainable use and management. The drop-in session will be used to get the views of the local community in helping to shape this appraisal.

Councillor Andrew Western, Leader of Trafford Council,  said:

The Council has made the commitment to protect the William Wroe site and ensure it is a resource that will benefit the whole community. The drop-in session is key in helping the Council assess how the site can be improved and better used and managed in the future. I hope local residents and businesses can attend and I look forward to seeing the results.”
