Trafford Council to consult with residents over new £22m leisure centre

Trafford Council is to consult with residents over a new Altrincham Leisure Centre.

The Council is planning to demolish the current leisure centre and build a new centre on the site which would include a 25m pool and 25m leisure pool with a moveable floor, a 100-station fitness suite, a six-court sports hall and squash courts. People will be asked their views on the development.

The consultation events will update the community on the current position and ask for views from residents and businesses on aspects that the community would benefit from to further encourage improvements to health and wellbeing.

Local residents and businesses are invited to attend a public consultation drop in event on 27th June 2019 between 2pm and 5pm at Altrincham Library or alternatively at Altrincham Leisure Centre on 3rd July 2019 between 3.30pm and 6.30pm.

Cllr Jane Baugh, Trafford Council Executive Member for Leisure and Culture, said:

The Council is keen to ensure that the views of the local community are heard and that any proposals taken forward for the Altrincham Leisure Centre site will have benefited from the input and engagement of local residents and businesses. This will help us to achieve the best possible solution and maximise the potential of the site for the local area.”
