Trafford Council has launched a survey for residents’ views on draft strategies for Sale Moor and Hale Villages.
The Council has teamed up with Nexus Planning to prepare a ‘Village Plan’ for Sale Moor and Hale and wants the community to give their views by completing an online survey.
The Council has undertaken initial engagement by meeting with local ward members, key stakeholders and the general public which generated a fantastic response. These ideas along with robust evidence carried out, have been used to prepare a draft strategy for both centres.
This consultation is again asking for people’s views and opinions on the draft strategies. Both plans contain a number of ideas and proposals that could potentially be implemented in either Sale Moor or Hale Villages in order to improve them as destinations to visit, as places to live, work and spend time.
Two consultation events are being held and members of the public are encouraged come along and speak with members of the consultant team and Council Officers about the proposals. The meetings will both take place on Saturday 1February 2020 at Hale Bowling Club between 9am and 12pm and at Sale Moor Methodist Church between 1pm and 4pm.
Cllr James Wright, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Housing and Regeneration, said:
Sale Moor and Hale are important local centres for both residents and businesses and we need to ensure they remain sustainable places which can flourish to meet the needs of the local community.
The Village Plans will look at ways to improve both areas by identifying potential development opportunities, measures to improve their environment and accessibility including how to make them better and safer places to move around.
I want the local community to be fully involved in the Place Plans and the survey is just the first part in this process. I would welcome your thoughts as these will help shape the draft Plans which will then be subject to further more detailed consultation.”
The surveys on Sale Moor and Hale Village are open until Tuesday 11th February 2019 and can be found on the Trafford Citizen Space page.
A hard copy of the document can be viewed along with hard copies of the questionnaire in Hale and Sale Libraries.
