Red Melody win Trafford's Battle of the Bands!

RED MELODY

Congratulations to Trafford Music Service’s Battle of the Bands winner Red Melody.

The four piece, all in Year 11 at St Ambrose College, Altrincham, stunned judges with three original songs at Trafford Music Service’s annual competition.

The judges were particularly impressed with the band as they came second in last year's event.

Guitarist and lead singer, Matyas Price Jones, said:

Not winning last year became more of an incentive for us to win this year.  We listened to last year's feedback and we really worked hard rehearsing for hours to make sure that we impressed.”

Battle of the Bands judge and Trafford Music Service tutor, Joe Seal, said:

This year, all six participating bands set an incredibly high standard, and it was a very difficult job to find a winner.  Red Melody performed an electrifying and energetic set, it was amazing to see how they've improved over the year.”

Red Melody will go on to represent Trafford at the Greater Manchester Rock Showcase at the legendary Band on the Wall on Sunday, 15 March. Tickets are available at: https://bandonthewall.org/events/gm-music-hub-live/

Ruth O’Keefe, Head of Trafford Music Service, said:

Congratulations to Red Melody.  Our incredibly popular Rock School takes place at The Claremont Centre in Sale every Wednesday.

"We’re encouraging as many Trafford young people to be musical, so if you know of the next Ed Sheeran or Oasis please go to www.traffordmusicservice.co.uk for more information.”
