Changes to public access and opening hours at Trafford Town Hall and Sale Waterside

The reception at Trafford Town Hall will be closed to the public and opening hours at Sale Waterside will be reduced from tomorrow (Wednesday April 1) until further notice.

The decision was taken in the light of a sharp decline in visitor numbers over the past week since the public was asked to stay at home for all but essential journeys to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and the need to safeguard the health and safety of Council key workers who remain on site in both locations.

Sale Waterside’s new opening hours are as follows:

  • 10am-4pm, Monday-Friday

Residents can continue to receive assistance and advice relating to Council services via the Access Trafford contact centre on 0161 912 2000, which is open from Monday to Friday 8.30am-5pm. Members of the public can also find information and contact the Council online at www.trafford.gov.uk.

Council Leader Andrew Western said:

In the interests of protecting the public and our essential workers, and encouraging people to stay at home to support the NHS, it is the right decision to reduce public access to Council buildings at this time.

We would urge that as far as possible residents use the phone and online services available rather than coming to Sale Waterside in person.

The Council website is being continually updated with information about both the impact of COVID-19 on services and the help available including council tax assistance, bin collections and temporary closures to service.”
