Housing association answers Trafford Council's call for PPE

A local housing association has answered Trafford Council’s call for help by providing hand sanitiser for frontline staff working through the COVID-19 outbreak.

Trafford Housing Trust (THT) has gifted more than 50 litres of antiseptic hand cleanser to the authority following its appeal for supplies of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from local businesses.

The Council monitors its stock levels on a daily basis across the whole of health and social care and there are currently sufficient supplies of hand sanitiser in place for the immediate future. However, there is increasing demand for equipment and, as a result, the Council has been looking at ways to ensure it has stock in place for staff working in health and social care and other frontline services.

Trafford Council’s Corporate Director for Adult Services Diane Eaton said:

During these unprecedented times I continue to be amazed by how much residents, volunteers, businesses and organisations are pulling together to help each other.
“Throughout this national emergency I have witnessed countless acts of kindness and generosity for which I’m truly grateful. A huge thank you to the team at THT for its amazing donation – a very welcome gift of more than 50 litres of hand sanitiser. It represents the very best of collaborative and partnership working.”

Larry Gold, Chief Executive, Trafford Housing Trust, said:

During these challenging times – and as partners – we need to all work together and when we heard the appeal from the Council we were only too happy to help out.”

The authority says it is still interested in locating gowns and or disposable aprons (in an unopened box/roll) and visors (half or full face: need to be curved to go around the face).
