Owners of businesses and homes in Trafford whose buildings have suffered from the recent flooding have been urged to contact the Council.
A dedicated email address – traffordfloodenquiries@amey.co.uk – has been set up to enable the Council to build up a picture of the particular areas in the borough affected by the heavy downpours.
The Council can then investigate the specific cause of flooding.
If there is a major or regular issue that falls under the Council’s remit, it can apply for government funding.
Cllr Stephen Adshead, Executive Member for Environment, Air Quality and Climate Change, said:
If floodwater has come into your property then we really want to hear from you.
It is a long process to receiving government funding to deal with flooding but getting all the details is the first important step so I would ask property owners to please get in touch with us.”
