A paper recycling company based in Trafford is creating 50 new jobs – with the help of Trafford Council.
Saica Natur UK are opening a new depot on Manchester Road, Carrington, in late 2020 and intend to create the jobs within the next two years.
The company is working in partnership to appoint a number of these new roles through the Trafford Pledge – a successful Trafford Council scheme which matches local job seekers with companies seeking employees.
Saica Natur has so far created 14 jobs through the Pledge - 11 quality operatives, 1 FLT driver and 2 apprenticeship opportunities. Saica Natur will be following in the footsteps of their sister company Saica Paper and signing the Trafford Pledge to pledge their commitment to support local residents of Trafford into their organisation through a number of employment pathways including work experience, apprenticeships and jobs.
Vicki Harvey, HR Training and Development Advisor at Saica Natur, said:
“As a family company it is important to us to support the local area by bringing local jobs to the local community.
I contacted Trafford Pledge when Saica Natur were building a new depot in Carrington.They supplied a significant amount of CVs for the role and we were able to interview and offer the majority of our production roles through this process. This has resulted in 69% of our workforce living within an eight miles radius of the plant.
The Trafford Pledge was very easy to use with no hassle and great communication, the quality of candidates was extremely high and made my role as the primary recruiter much easier.”
Cllr James Wright, Trafford Council’s Executive member for Housing and Regeneration, said:
