Warning issued over Covid scam

vaccine scam (3)

Trafford Council has issued a warning after elderly residents were targeted in a scam relating to Covid vaccines.

Council staff say patients have received phone calls stating they will be having their vaccination at home and must pay over the phone.

But the Council is making it very clear that nobody will be asked to have a vaccine at home.

When callers ring up about the vaccine, they will identify themselves and say they are calling on behalf of a GP.

A spokesperson for Trafford Council said:

"Sadly, we have been alerted to a possible Covid scam aimed at older residents.

There have been several reports of patients receiving phone calls stating they'll be having their Covid vaccination at home and that they must pay on the phone. These calls are being made by conmen and must be ignored at all times."
