More than 200 job seekers attended a jobs fair organised by Trafford Council’s Inclusive Economy and Communities team.
Those attending the event at Emirates Old Trafford were given help, advice and guidance from 20 employers and training providers offering a range of local jobs and training opportunities.
Speaking after the event, Councillor Mike Freeman, Executive Member for Covid 19 Recovery and Reform, said:
“The Trafford Jobs Fair was a great success. We are committed to supporting Trafford residents into work and the aim of the event was to promote some good quality sustainable roles available with local employers.
“We also recognise that not everyone is ready to move straight into work and may need a little help along the way so we had a number of support agencies on hand as well as details of training and volunteering opportunities”
Emma Whitemoss from local employer, DA Languages, attended the event to recruit for a number of interpreting roles into the business. She said:
"It was great to be involved with the Trafford Council Job Fair. As a local employer, we're always looking for ways to connect with the fantastic talent we have in the local community. The event was well attended, well organised and we're looking forward to next year's!"
