This is the moment a fly-tipper was caught dumping two fridges in a car park in Trafford.
Jacek Kryk was captured on Trafford Council’s CCTV depositing the items from the back of his vehicle onto the car park in the Old Trafford area.
The CCTV control room alerted the Council’s Environmental Improvement Team who carried out a full investigation and passed the case to the legal team for prosecution.
Mr Kryk of Chester Road, Stretford, appeared at Manchester Magistrates Court on Friday 8th October 2021, and pleaded guilty to fly-tipping. He was granted a 12 month conditional discharge and the court ordered the defendant to pay costs of £300 plus a victim surcharge of £21.
Cllr Stephen Adshead, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Environmental and Regulatory Services, said:
“Fly-tipping of any sort in Trafford is totally unacceptable and we will take firm action against anyone we catch in the act. Anyone thinking of fly-tipping in our borough should remember that we have eyes on you through our CCTV cameras. If we catch you we will prosecute you and take you to court.
Trafford Council is totally committed to a green future and having pride in all of our areas. We will not tolerate environmental vandalism like this.”
If you spot anyone fly-tipping, please report them to Trafford Council on the hotline 0161 912 4152.
