"It is vital what we provide is right for our residents." Council consults over mental health services

A review of mental health services for adults in Trafford has been launched to make sure residents receive the right care at the right time.

Trafford Council will be speaking to current users of services, as well as previous users and care providers to get their views.

Cllr Jo Harding, Executive Member for Adult Services, said:

“The pandemic has been really tough for lots of people in terms of their mental health. Therefore, it is vital that what we provide is right for our residents.

“Mental health can be a block to relationships, job opportunities and it can lead to poor physical health too. We want to do all we can to make sure our residents get the support they need to improve and maintain their health.”

The Council has already begun the process of speaking with people currently supported by mental health care services to establish what areas can improve. Health practitioners and care providers are also being consulted for their expert opinions.

Cllr Harding added:

“If you have used mental health services in the past or you wanted but felt you weren’t provided for, then we want to hear from you.

“Please be assured, your views are valuable and what you share with us will be anonymised. It’s important that we get as many views as possible so we can get our service provision right and help improve the mental health of everyone who needs our support.”
