A special employment support event has been organised by Trafford Council to help newly-arrived Ukrainian and Hong Kong residents find employment.
The event will be attended by dozens of employers and job support organisations and takes place at Stretford Public Hall on Wednesday 17th August from 1pm to 3pm.
The jobs fair will be friendly and informal and will also offer helpful advice on work and training.
Cllr Andrew Western, Leader of Trafford Council, said:
“Hundreds of Ukrainian and Hong Kong residents have arrived in Trafford in the last few months and we welcome them with open arms. This jobs fair is extremely important as it offers our new friends a chance to gain employment as they get used to living in a new environment. Well done to Trafford Council and partners for setting up the event. I am sure local companies will find lots of willing employees at the event. “
Local employers with multiple job opportunities can contact the team at employment@trafford.gov.uk to register for a table.
The event is being arranged to particularly help people who are new to the area such as Ukrainian and Hong Kong newcomers but is open to anyone in Trafford wanting employment support.
