There's still time to have your say on the future of building design in Trafford

The end date for comments has been extended, giving people more time to have their say.

Trafford Council has announced that there is still time left for people to have their say on the future look of their community buildings.

Consultation on the borough’s draft Design Guide and Design Code has now been extended. The guide seeks to ensure that high-quality design, with a focus on sustainability, plays a major role in all future developments within Trafford.

The new end date for comments is Friday 9 September. Following the conclusion of a number of successful in-person events, people are being encouraged to submit their thoughts online at www.designingtrafford.co.uk.

To do so, residents need to visit the website, click on the ‘Have your say’ tab across the top of the page and follow the instructions provided.

Cllr Liz Patel, Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration at Trafford Council, said:

“Our consultation to date has produced some brilliant comments and feedback from local people. It’s clear that there are many living in the borough who feel passionately about the way the areas they live in should look and feel. With this in mind, we wanted to extend the deadline for comments on the Design Guide and Design Code to allow as many people as possible to submit their views.

The Design Guide and Design Code are intended to make sure that quality, sustainable design plays a big part in all future development across the borough, so it’s really important that anyone with a view who hasn’t already commented visits our website and leaves feedback.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the design of future Trafford, so don’t miss the chance to play your part.”
