Council launches housing needs consultation

What is your housing situation?

Trafford Council is asking residents what their housing needs are now and for the future as part of an in-depth public consultation.

The survey results will feed into the Council’s Housing Need Assessment (HNA) document and will help give a bigger picture of the housing market in the borough.

Anyone wishing to take part in the survey and give their views can log onto the website at  traffordsurvey2022.co.uk

When all the evidence is gathered, a report will be produced to give the Council an idea of housing need for the short term (the next five years), the intermediate term (the next five to ten years) and the medium term (the next ten to 20 years).

Cllr James Wright, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Housing and Neighbourhoods, said: “This survey is extremely important to Trafford Council as it builds a picture of housing needs for the future. It can help us shape policy and support our corporate priority to build more affordable housing.  We would like as many people as possible to please take part in the survey to help provide us with the information we need going forward.”

The final report will be produced in March 2023 and the evidence and data will be used to draft the new Housing Strategy 2024-2029.
