Mayor of Trafford to hold special charity Christmas event

A special charity celebration of Christmas is being held by the Mayor of Trafford – and everyone is invited!

The Mayor, Cllr Chris Boyes, is holding the event at St John’s Church, Brooklands Road, Sale, on Saturday December 10 at 2.30pm.

The event will be led by Rev Richard Sherratt and will re-tell the story of Christmas with lessons, readings, poems, and traditional carols. Pupils from local schools will be in attendance and there will be music from the choir of Brooklands Primary School.

Admission is free and there are light refreshments, but all money raised through raffles and collections will be donated to Parkinson’s UK and The Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Cllr Boyes said: “I am delighted to be hosting this Mayoral charity event at St John’s Church. We will tell the story of Christmas with the help of local schoolchildren and the choir of Brooklands Primary School. Money raised from the celebration will be donated to two charities very close to my heart – the children’s hospital and Parkinson’s UK. I would urge as many people as possible to attend this event and looking forward to seeing you all there on the day.”
