Proposal to Amalgamate Wellfield Infant and Junior Schools - Withdrawn

Update - January 2022

Having listened to the views of all partners, the council has concluded that the proposal to amalgamate Wellfield Infant and Junior Schools should not progress at this time. Therefore, they will continue as two separate schools and a new Headteacher will be recruited for the Junior School in the immediate future.

Proposal Withdrawn - November 2021

During the period of representation, new financial information was considered which suggests that an amalgamated school may not be financially viable at this time, as the pandemic has significantly compounded financial challenges for both schools. Therefore the proposal has been withdrawn at this time.

Statutory Notice - September 2021

A statutory notice was published on 2 September 2021. This commenced a 4 week formal period of consultation where any person may object or make comments on the proposal.
