Dangerous structures

What action we will take

If it is considered that a building is dangerous we may take immediate action necessary to remove the danger. Such action may involve temporary road closure, barricading, shoring, scaffolding, repairs or demolition.

Where the building is not immediately dangerous, the owner may receive a letter requiring the property to be made safe within a stated time. It may be possible to discuss a dangerous building with its owner in order to resolve the matter quickly without us instructing work on a private property.

We have a call-out system for dangerous buildings. To report any possible danger observed contact the emergency control room on 0161 912 2020.
