Residents asked to take part in tree consultation

Residents are being asked their views on Trafford Council’s updated tree management policy.

A consultation has been opened on the policy which concerns trees growing on council-owned land and private property across the borough.

The policy reflects the climate and environmental challenges that Trafford faces and looks into how we ensure that trees continue to contribute to the Council’s overall corporate aims to make Trafford a place with a focus on better health, better jobs and a greener future.

Those taking part in the online survey will be asked a series of questions about the importance of trees and how the Council manages tree growth in the borough. To take part in the consultation, please go to Tree Management Policy Consultation - Trafford Council's Citizen Space - Citizen Space. The Consultation opened on May 30 and closes on August 14, 2023.

Cllr Stephen Adshead, Trafford Council’s Executive for Highways, Environmental and Traded Services, said: “Trafford Council is totally committed to addressing the climate crisis and we are clear about the importance of trees to the environment.

“We have updated our tree management policy and want your views on the updates so we can to form the final policy. I would urge as many people as possible to take part in this important consultation.”
