Fostering community events

One of the many advantages of fostering for your local authority is that you immediately have the opportunity to join a community of foster carers who can offer moral support, encouragement and the benefit of their experience.

We run a series of regular events for our foster carers and the children and young people in their care. This helps our community of foster carers to make connections and build relationships with other fostering families in Trafford.

Foster carer celebration

We held our first Foster carer celebration in September 2023 to thank Trafford’s foster carers for the incredible work they do, and to recognise those who have reached 5, 10, 15, 20 and even 25 years as foster carers. It was a brilliant day and we’re looking forward to making this an annual event.

Cared for Children celebration

This is an annual event where we go all out to recognise the achievements of Trafford’s cared for children, and invite all our foster families to celebrate together, with entertainment, refreshments and lots of fun!

Christmas party

Every year we hold a Christmas party for children in foster care and do our best to make it as memorable and special as possible with music and games, festive entertainment, party food and a visit from the big man himself with presents for all the children.
